Crater Rim Day Trek

Arrive in Senaru the day before your trek so you have time to settle in and rest before the early start. You can book a stay at our homestay or arrange your own hotel or homestay in Senaru.

If you are staying with us, check in at our homestay on Day 0. If you have booked your own accommodation, go directly there and share its name and location with our team so we can arrange your pickup.

Depending on your arrival time, you may have time to explore the village or visit the nearby waterfalls. Have dinner and get an early night—we will pick you up from your accommodation around 1:00 – 2:00 am the following morning. Your exact pickup time will be confirmed before the trek.

Your guide will collect you from our homestay or your chosen accommodation in Senaru around 1–2 a.m. After heading to the trailhead, you will begin your ascent through the rainforest in the early morning darkness.

We will stop halfway up the Senaru trail for breakfast and a rest before continuing uphill. As you climb beyond the treeline, the forest gives way to open slopes and grassy ridgelines leading to Senaru Crater Rim.

At the crater rim, take a break and enjoy the views of Segara Anak Lake, Mount Barujari, and Rinjani’s summit. You will have lunch here, with time to relax and take photos before beginning the descent.

You will return along the same trail, descending through the rainforest to Senaru. We are usually back around midday, depending on the group’s walking speed and trail conditions. Onward transportation or another night in Senaru can be arranged according to your travel plans.
