What are the most famous dive sites in Komodo National Park?

Komodo National Park is home to some of the most well known dive sites in Indonesia, and each one offers a very different experience. Manta Point is one of the most iconic locations because divers can often see manta rays gliding in the currents or feeding near the surface. The site is relatively shallow, which makes it enjoyable for divers of many levels. Another world class spot is Batu Bolong, a pinnacle filled with bright coral, swirling fish, turtles, and occasional reef sharks. It is famous for having some of the healthiest coral in the region.

Castle Rock and Crystal Rock are two more legendary sites. These exposed pinnacles sit in deeper, stronger currents, attracting large schools of fish, giant trevallies, sharks, and other pelagic species. Experienced divers consider these two sites essential because the conditions create dramatic underwater scenes that change throughout the dive. Crystal Bay is another favorite, known for excellent visibility and calm conditions that make it ideal for photography.

Siaba Besar is often called Turtle City because it has an unusually high number of resident green turtles. The sandy bottom and coral slopes make this a relaxing dive with plenty of marine life. Tatawa Besar and Tatawa Kecil are also popular due to their gentle drift dives, colorful soft corals, and friendly fish that swim close to divers.

Most of these sites are included in liveaboard dive itineraries, and some can be visited on day trips depending on conditions. If you choose a boat that offers diving, the crew will plan the dive schedule based on currents, tide charts, and your skill level to give you the safest and most enjoyable experience.
