Cell phone service inside Komodo National Park is patchy at best, and in many areas it is completely absent. You may pick up a weak signal near some of the ranger stations or higher elevations, but you should not count on it. Most of the islands have no towers at all, which means no data, no calls, and no messaging for large portions of your trip.
all of our boats and the vessels we work with such as our boats, are equipped with radios and satellite phones. Captain Amar and the crew use these to stay in contact with our base in Labuan Bajo and to check weather reports. If you need to reach family or handle an urgent matter, the crew can assist during windows when the boat is in range or when we pass through areas with better reception.
We recommend downloading offline maps, entertainment, and any important documents before leaving Labuan Bajo. Inform your contacts that you will be unreachable for the duration of the cruise. Part of the magic of Komodo is disconnecting from daily life, but we understand that peace of mind matters. That is why our vessels prioritize reliable onboard communication even when your personal phone cannot connect.
