How far is the nearest hospital from Komodo National Park?

The nearest hospital to Komodo National Park is located in Labuan Bajo, on the western coast of Flores. Depending on where your boat is within the park, the travel time back to Labuan Bajo ranges from approximately two to four hours by sea. If you are at the northern reaches of the park or visiting remote sites like Gili Lawa, the journey could take even longer. There are no medical facilities on any of the islands inside the park.

Labuan Bajo’s hospital is functional but basic. It can manage infections, minor wounds, dehydration, and other straightforward complaints. For complex cases, such as serious fractures, appendicitis, or cardiac events, you will need to fly to Bali.
