What passport information is required to register for a Mount Rinjani e-Rinjani permit?

Your full name exactly as printed in your passport, your passport number, your nationality, and your date of birth are the core identity details used to register a foreign trekker on the e-Rinjani permit system. The booking itself also records itinerary data: the number of trekkers, the entry gate, the exit gate, and the trekking date, followed by a quota check. The system additionally asks you to acknowledge park terms and an anticipated rubbish declaration, which is part of the zero-waste rules on the mountain.

Operators collecting details on the park’s behalf typically gather a bit more than the permit screen itself. Our own registration checklist asks for the full passport name, passport number, nationality, date of birth, gender, and an emergency contact, plus your planned entry and exit, trekking date, and group size. Arrival and departure information helps us plan pickups, but it is trip logistics, not a park requirement, so treat the identity fields as the non-negotiable core.

Accuracy matters more than most guests realize, because the park’s published FAQ states that the named trekker on an issued ticket cannot be changed afterward, and neither can the ticket’s other trekker data. A misspelled name or a single wrong digit in a passport number can therefore turn into an administrative problem, or even a new ticket, instead of a quick fix at the gate. That is why we always read the passport spelling, number, and itinerary back to every guest before we pay.

Document types are simple. Foreign visitors register against a passport, and holders of a Indonesian KITAS can use that instead, while Indonesian citizens use their KTP identity card. Have the physical passport or a clear copy available when you send details, because typing from memory is how most errors happen.

Practical advice from our side: photograph your passport biodata page and send us the photo rather than retyping it, confirm the trekking date and route in the same message, and double-check the read-back we send you. Fixing an error takes one minute before payment and a lot of stress after issue. That habit is the single best protection against a permit problem on trek day.
